    Hi, how can I set the default font when I'm composing an email in Mozilla 1.1 to what I want? It seems to have "variable" and size "12" or so as the default. I want Arial 11 as default for all emails. Edit a .ini? Thanks.

    You can also add something like this to your userContent.css file... (text file in your profile "chrome" directory).

    /* mailnews font size */
    .moz-text-plain pre {
    font-size: 11pt ! important;
    font-family: arial ! important;
    }

    This should work for composing/viewing plain text mail. I don't have any idea if this affects html mail.

    didn't work

    Thanks for replies, Ramona & Tranquillo. However, neither works to my satisfaction. In order for Ramona's to work, I have to do the "open a template" routine, which only saves the font I want if I actually type something in the field & save it that way, with initial unwanted characters, or the field reverts to the default "variable width, size 12" font.
    On the little macro, I probably don't have all the needed info, or entered it wrong, it didn't work.
