[Inactive] Vista not starting in normal mode

I was watching youtube on my e-Machine when the monitor suddenly went blank. I have tried rebooting several times but I keep getting the blue screen that states that windows was shutting down to protect the computer. I am working in safe mode now and every program that I have tried works fine except there is no sound. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this or how to fix? I am not sure what type of further information is needed to proceed. Thanks for the help!

I see no immediate indication, your computer is infected. I propose, you state your problems under Windows section.
