After installing Norton 2000 on a friends PC when I double clicked on the Norton Icon on the task bar to open it all I get is''Norton Integrator could not initialize the current frame class''.

I visited the Symantec site and looked into this, tried the more simple steps sugested for correcting the problem and after that didn't work I stalled because I am still in the learning stages about a lot of stuff related to computers and with someonelses Pc I'm a bit scared to do anything and mess up (she knows even less than I do about this stuff.

I was wondering if uninstalling and then re-ins
talling might help even though when installing a message came up saying that uninstalling might not be possible, but I know that there would be some way to get it done.

Also can anyone tell me if they know and what they might know about an Anti-Virus application called Avast? Is it good etc.

    Thanking you in advance

Is this what you looked at? At the bottom, install/uninstall info.

Hello Aleekat, first of all, sorry for taking so long to reply(I wasn't onlime for a couple of days, had some personal matters to attend to). The link that you left me does show what the problem was even though the page that we open up didn't have such simple solutions (at least not to us). The PC in question belongs to a friend though and she just went ahead and un-installed NAV and installed something else. So much for that. Thank you though for your time and patience. Thanks again.
