I have finally returned to the Fray. I know this has been round the roundabout a few times but I have done a Forum search and cant find an answer to my problem. I am using the pinned 3D Win XP Screensaver. {Funny - I didnt notice it there before} It stays on for about 2 minutes then goes straight back to desktop. I have tried adjusting the delay time in and out from 3 to 10 minutes, checked power options {Set to Never} and Hibernate unticked. Still no change. Unfortunately, niether of my PS2 ports are working due to a botched jobby a repair technician, so I have been using an Optical USB Mouse for the last 9 months.

All other pinned Screensavers {Including 3D} are working normally. I checked out the Post by Miz re a hibernation patch but I am using SP3. The patch that Miz has posted is only for SP1. Can anyone be of assistance please.

I'm not sure what a " pinned" Screensaver is...but, are you closing apps like Email so that they don't attempt to check for new mail?

Is is possible you're bumping the desk and moving the mouse?

Good morning Steve. {11PM here} A pinned Screensaver is one that comes as standard with Microsoft, but I dont remember seeing this one before. It may have come through with an Automatic Update. Anyway, that was the problem. I am using Incredimail as my default Email which normally checks for new emails at whatever interval that I set. In my case it was set for 3 minutes. Once I unticked that box, the problem stopped. So I guess thats what must have been running in the background and waking up my computer. Strange, thats the only screensaver that it happens with. I guess I can live with that. I'll have a word with Incredimail about it unless you have any suggestions. Thanks for your help.
