XP Home SP2 AND Media Center sp2 FOR HP

Hey everyone, first time poster, but ive searched a bit around this site and cant find any help with this so ill just get it out there.

Okay so i need to reinstall windows xp home edition sp2 and media center edition sp2 for 2 hp laptops. The thing is that i have the cd keys for them.. theyre legit.. but i dont have the cd's for them.. why you ask? well this is a favor for my gf and she loses everything. now from what ive read if im not mistaken.. i cant use a regular edition sp2 disc with the cd key i have... i need the hp ones to work with these cd keys correct? does anyone have any ideas what i can do to get these cd keys to work or how to obtain these softwares? like i said i legally have the keys... just not the cds

You can just borrow the Media Center CD's from someone and use the keys you have. It will have to be activated, which will probably have to be done by phone, as Microsoft has disabled online activation of Royalty OEM keys to reduce piracy. The key used to install the OS must be a Media Center Edition key, otherwise you will just end up with XP Pro. Also, do not install Service Pack 3, or it will remove Media Center.
