    Really annoying when I try to listen to a radio program or watch a video and it constantly stops and is buffering until I either wait out the buffering or refresh the page to get the audio or video playing again.

    I keep the cookies, temp files and history cleaned up but that seems to have no bearing on the problem.

    I have Vista home premium, 2GB RAM, 288 GB hard drive with 260 GB free space, AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 4400+ 2.3GHz Processor and a Nvidia GeForce 7300LE card. All anti virus and spyware are up to date and run daily. Hard drive is on automatic defrag and current. No known system problems.

    Problem is on all audio/video players that are available on different sites.

    My problem? Web sites problem? I have no clue. Anything I can do?

    What type of internet connection do you have?
    What browser, version?
    Did you try different browser?
    What do you use for AV?

    Cable modem broadband, just ran a test and results show 5624kbps. Internet Explorer 8, have never tried a different browser. AV programs vary depending on the site connected to.

    I don't know, what's your ISP advertised speed, but 5.6Mbps is a decent speed, so I don't think, your issue comes from internet speed.
    AV = antivirus program
    IE8 has been having all kind of problems.
    It's always a good idea to have two browsers, so in case like yours, you can see, if it's browser problem, or something else.
    Try Firefox, and see, if it has same problem.

    Hi Jack57,

    My 2¢,

    Do you have a separate sound card, or is it built into the mother board? Either way, there's a setting for buffering rates. You may want to increase the time by 5 to 10 seconds and see if that does any good.

    Increased buffering rate to 15 seconds from 5 seconds. Increased RAM to 4GB from 2GB at the suggestion of a computer tech at Staples. I did them both at the same time so I'm not sure what corrected it but I no longer have the problem. Thanks so much for your help. Jack
