While playing a game the screen Suddenly froze and everthing was locked.
I rebooted the computer and now I'm only getting a blank screen after the Sony VA10 logo appears.

I tried going into Safe mode the drivers start to load then stops.

Could this be my video card or my hard Drive?

The computer is a sony va10 vgc-ra822g desktop.

    Any help would be great.

The fact that the drivers stop loading in Safe Mode inclines me towards a problem with the hard drive - I take it that you waited a few minutes before concluding that Safe Mode had hung?

I suggest you first of all test the hard drive with the manufacturer's disk diagnostic software - this will run on boot from a bootable CD or floppy. You will need to open the case and determine the manufacturer of the drive and then download a DOS version of their diagnostic software ......

    Disk Diagnostic Software ....

    ExcelStore

    Hitachi/IBM

    Samsung

    Seagate, Maxtor, Quantum

    Western Digital

Having determined the make of the drive - if you are unsure what to download post back for guidance.
