internet explorer 7 and tabs

    Every time i try to open a new window or instance of IE 7, it opens the window in a tab. I have everything i can think of set correctly in the tab settings. Anything that can be set to open in a new window is set like that.

    Anything else I can check? Its really annoying.

    my settings

    well in internet options> Tabs> Settings>

    This is what is checked:

    Enable Tabbed browsing
    Warn when closing multiple tabs

    "When a pop up is encountered "

    Always open pop-ups in a new window

    "open links from other programs in: "

    A new window

    Is there another spot? I have reinstalled IE7 idk what the heck to do. All i want is to be able to have two IE windows open next to each other side by side again (with tabbed browsing enabled)

    If you click the IE icon on your desktop a second time - does a second window open?

    nope

    It actually opens the new windows for a second and then places it into the new tab of the current window. Never seen this before.

    I figured it out, it was SP3. IDK WTH happened, but I uninstalled it and everything is back to normal. I will try and install it again.
