    Appreciate some assistance.

How can one tell if a memory module (SDRAM DiMM) has a layout of 16MxN (16Mx8 or 16Mx16)?

Have a mainboard with VIA MBP3 Chipset requiring the aforementioned memory layout before it recognizes SDRAM above 64MB.

Don't quite know what to look for.

    Hi FZWG,

Go to the memory manufacturer's website and check the specs before you buy. You might try here http://www.crucial.com I've had good luck with their memory and you can enter the mnfgr and model# of the motherboard and it will link you to a page of compatible modules.
