    Hello all,

Hopefully someone could help me out...not sure what to do next. Checked the other freeze threads but did not see the same issue or I already tried the solution presented.

When running any graphics heavy programs (i.e. games either stand alone or online/video editing) the computer freeze almost looks as if I took a screen shot. Only way to recover is to powerdown or reset the system. All the fans are working and as you can see below temps are 'ok'. I've updated drivers, I've run various registry cleaners recommended by 'maximum pc', have Norton AV running, have run 'SUPERAntiSpyware', and a few other system cleaners. Optimized my hard drives, updated windows, cleaned out junk files, etc...

Crashes do not occur at any set time, might have run video for 6 hours, then switched to a game 10 mins into it 'crash'. Or played game for 3+ hours no crash, then go to either editor or another game may or may not crash. May start a game and within 5 mins 'crash'. So far no internet browser related crashes. Also I just cannot repeat the crashes; restated a saved game right before a crash, game continued on with no problem second time, while editing video - crash, reopened the same video no issue...

In the event viewer I 'sometimes' get this -
" Service Control Manager (SCM) could not start the specified service, probably because the service is not configured correctly" "The %1 service failed to start due to the following error: %2 "
    or
"The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer YOUR-97F393E93B that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{547D14F0-F87. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced. "

Here is the computer report from EVEREST, I also have CPU-Z, SIW and real temp data if desired...any help or suggestions would be very appreicated. My thought is I may need to replace the GPU...but not sure...

Umm...may have corrected my own dumb error. While updating graphics drivers I left the AV auto protect on...on three different occasions! Roled back to an older driver and made sure the offending program was off. Seems to be working...no crashes after a few hours of use.

Thanks...although...no one figured it out before me, what's up with that!

Thanks for the update - we all know a little, but no one knows all :)

Although some installations suggest turning off the AV this is not commomplace and, to be honest, rarely causes a problem if left on. You were unlucky in this respect.
