While rebuilding my system from scratch with slipstream XP SP3.

Hi all cannot install ms framework 1.1 i get the following error.
It is at the very end of the installation.

The heading of the error is
" RegSvcs.exe Common language runtime Debugging services "
    The error is
" Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. "
    "Process id=0x3a4(932), Thread id=0x3a0 (928). "
Click ok to terminate the application.
Click cancel to debug the application.

I installed framework 2 before 1.1 would this be the problem?
I uninstalled 2.2 to no avail... I renamed mscoree no good.
    Please help.

I need 1.1 for Norton Ghost.

    Rgds

    George..

Norton ghost 9 requires framework 1.1.
I will try 3.5 and let you know.

When you installed .Net Framework 3.5 it also installed 1.1. What happens when you try to open Norton ghost?

    I get the message
"To run norton ghost, you must first install MS .net framework 1.1. would you like to install the mS .net frame work package? "

I will uninstall and re install Ghost and see what happens but assume failure unless I post otherwise.

    George..

As I guessed did not work........

Make sure that you have all windows updates for your system installed.

Since Ghost 9 is quite old (2004), you may be SOL...

You can try running the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility found here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.
You will be able to remove all installations of .NET Framework versions. Reboot. Then you can start over with the installation of version 1.1 then 2.0 and so on.
