What to shut off in ie8 for security

    I'm hearing there is a serious security leak in IE8. Till Microsoft gets it fixed, they're saying we should shut off certain things in this program. The thrilling thing is, they are not saying what to shut off.

    First, is this a truth and if so, what is it that one must turn off in IE8 so all will be well?
    Rememeber to type slowly in order for me to understand. Thanks!

    Who are "they" that you're referring too?

    I haven't anything unusual about IE8.

    CNN news ... now I don't see it posted, but it was there this morning. It stated Microsoft had no present fix and consequently asked folk to shut off certain parts of IE8. BUT this is my question ... they did not say what to shut off.
    The furthered comment by Steve Jones might tell you something.

    Steve, thanks for the help. It seems that this is not for Vista but for XP only. Did you get that impression?

    Well look at that there!!! Clearly stated and clear as a Bell and clearly I didn't see it. Excuse me while I go and try and clear up why I didn't notice it. My!!!
