Resolved Computer Freezing Up

I have a Dell Laptop w XP with DSL wireless. My computer began freezing when I attempt to access any program At one point, a loud alarm went off and did not stop until I powered off.
I can bring up the start menu but cannot click on any function. I did a system restore and it ran that and rebooted without any problem. I went into the recovery console but did not know what I was doing so I exited, had no problem in that mode. Does not nor will cut it off unless I power off. When I try to restart I can hear computer trying to run but it takes several attempts to get it to power up. Have tried on AC and on battery. Need some help please.

Seems to be doing OK in Safe Mode. I started there earlier and got sidetracked. Can you not have internet access in Safe Mode?

 

Don't even go there, it did happen all at once. This is diculous. What can I do now? I can't a scan in Safe Mode, can I?

 

Back in normal mode, went into a program, had a problem but was able to use task master to resolve it. Ran short scan in Malwarebytes (without updates) nothing infected. Ran DDS and HJT scans, no problems. Rebooted and the computer will not turn off to restart.

 

The first program I opened fine then when I tried to navigate through it, the computer froze up. I used Task Master to get out but it took a while. I ran the scans after this episode and had no more issues until I tred to reboot. I have beem having a problem booting but I just powered off and it booted with no problem.

 

This still has that system configuration utility screen on it. I can't access the internet. I told you it booted up fine but it froze and would not let me click on my icon, had to reboot.

 

Yes it was frozen, would not let me log in or any one else for that matter. Think I've got it going now, I'm back online. Am going to post the DDS scan while I'm doing my other assigned chores.

I am not sure about this processing business but I have a XP, service pack 3 and I know that is my OS. Explain the processing thing.

 

It has frozen up again. Would it be a good idea for me to have someone look at it. I think I have lifetime support warranty on it since it is a business machine. What thinks you?

 

It is still frozen up, froze up after I poster the temps. I just left it alone.Did you not read my post prior to your last post?

 

This is the 10th and final time I attempt this post, I get to the end and lose it. Something going on my scroll bar when I hit the space bar. Oh Broni, I am so tired of compputers . I did call tech support and got the BIG runaround but I was not going to be deterred, I was no a mission. I rolled up my sleeves and got to work and found some help and then my computer wouldn;t cooperate. Worked well in safe mode but doesn't have internet access and my machine couldn't be accessed without it. Ran a short diagnostic scan, everything passed. later I ran extended diagnostic scan, no diagnostic utility partitions identified, everything passed. Ran a system check, there were no warnings or errors, Recommendations by tech: reinstall OS, done 3 weeks ago, replace etherner card, internet fine in normal mode when not froze up. software problem, but what. Did work on it for about an hour after taking out of safe mode with out any problems. When I went back to it it had frozen up. That is my story and I am sticking to it. It's in your ball park now, I am waiting.
