Windows Vista Changed Icon appearance

    Hello, I am running windows vista Home basic and all of a sudden today 3rd July some of my desktop Icons have changed appearance and have a white blank icon over them. Any suggestions please how I can get them back to the proper icons to display? All my spyware and virus checks are up to date. I did a system restore to yesterday's date being the 2nd July but still they won't appear with the correct Icon displayed. I tried to attached a screenshot, but not sure where to click to attach it.

    Try to rebuild icon cache.
    Restart computer in Safe Mode, then back to Normal Mode.
