Desktop shortcut problem

    Hi there

    I hope you can help me. I can't seem to open some of my programs eg. outlook express, notepad and itunes. I have tried opening them from desktop shortcuts and from the program files and when I double click all I get is the hour glass time for a couple of seconds and then nothing....... I am using winxp and I think I have SP3. Any help would be appreciated.

    how about going to "Run" then typing like notepad... check if it will run or not.. if still nothing then you might be infected with a virus..
