Windows Vista codec needed

    can,t play cd,s on media player on vista. It say,s that i need audio codec micrsoft mpeg-(50). i have not been able to find it any help would be welcome. (thank,s)

    Hi and welcome to the BBS,

    You get your main CODECs from the supplier of the audio controller. Can you identify the audio controller? Go to their website and get drivers/software.

    In Windows Media Player, you need to go to the main menu -> Tools -> Options and on the Player tab, check the box "Download CODECs automatically ".

    You already have that codec. Just change the file extension from .mp3 to .mp2.

    There are all main codecs
