Problems with .jpg attachments

Hello - I'm new here.

I am using Outlook Express 6

Recently, I have had trouble opening .jpg attachments to my emails. I double-click the icons but nothing opens. If I save the attachments in My Pictures they open OK.

This evening a friend told me that some .jpg attachments I sent to him were showing up as .eml files (whatever they are) and not .jpgs, even though the .jpg icons were clearly showing when I sent the email.

I guess these two things are related. Any ideas?

Hi again Broni.
I think I've found the problem. I had inadvertantly enabled the option whereby Outlook Express breaks up any messages over a certain size. This meant that any with .jpg attachments were being shredded for recombining at the other end. Thanks for the reply to my request for help. I still have another problem, but I'll start a new thread for that one.

Hi Broni.
I started the new thread but a member of BBS staff locked it off. I guess he thought it was too much like my previous thread. However, he provided a few suggestions for earlier similar threads and from one of these I was able to identify a solution, so now both problems are dealt with.
