Can't send mail to verizon customers

I am running Windows XP Home SP3 and using Windows Live Mail. When I send a message to a verizon customer I get a message back that Windows live mail can not find the server. I have called Windows Live Mail and I have sent them e mails but they say the trouble is with Hotmail. I don't know how to contact Hotmail. Hotmail says to go to help which is on the home page but since the home page is now Windows live mail there is no "help"

Does anyone know how to contact Hotmail?
