    Hi everyone,

I hope someone might be able to help me. I have a HP Pavilion a1730N with Windows Vista Home Edition and IE. The other day the something occured that is blocking me from connecting with one of my websites. I can connect with any other sites I want to go to but not my own site. I visited it early in the afternoon Sunday and two hours later I could not get to the site either through my browser, ftp or to my cpanel.
All I get is an error page "cannot display webpage ". The bottom of the browser shows: res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#

I checked with my ISP and they are not blocking the IP address. I double checked by hooking up another computer to the same modem and I was able to connect with the site so it appears to be something with my HP. My hosting company indicates there is no problem on their end. I ran antivirus/malware several times with no results. I also ran the windows diagnostic scan and it showed everything was ok. I also tried with my firewall turned off, no success.

I also upgraded to IE 8 from 7 and that didn't change anything.
Could there be a simple resolution to this, I hope hope!
    Thanks
    Joe :)

Go to Tools > Internet Options and click the Delete button under Browsing history. See if that helps.

    Hi Arie,
Thanks for your reply. I tried deleting the history but it didn't change anything. I still can't get to the one site while I can connect to all others. When I ran windows diagnostics it came back that they tried to ping the remote site but don't get an answer. Yet if I go to my other older computer and hook it up to the same modem the site comes up ok.
    Thanks again
    Joe

    Hi broni,
Just tried Firefox again and received a timeout screen. I had tried it yesterday and got the same timeout. Yet if I try other sites they work fine.
    Thanks for the reply.

    Hi,
Tried and got "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" which is what I have gotten since Sunday afternoon. Prior to that everything was fine.
    Thanks

Still problem with connecting to site

    Hi,
I am still having the same problem with one IP address/url being blocked. I am sure it isn't my cable company since I can hook up another computer to the same cable modem and I connect to the site ok.
I was using IE7 when the problem first started and have upgraded to IE8 but problem still exists. I tried FireFox and same problem.

I cannot connect using the IP address (208.100.25.132), the domain name (homebizlink.com), Eudora will not download email from that domain as it has always done, when I go to another domain that happens to have a graphic that is hosted homebizlink.com, the graphic does not come up. I cannot connect to the site with my ftp program or load pages with my cutehtml program.

I tried turning off the firewall and anti virus/malware programs, still no luck. I uninstalled webroot and installed AVG anti virus. No Luck. I cleared browser history, reset IE defauls, cleared temp files, disabled browser addons and reset the cable modem. Problem still there.

I can connect to any other site I want except this one. While I am not a tech person, it seems to me to be a browser problem. I even went in and checked the the HOSTS file and added the IP/domain name in there. The only thing in the HOSTS file is:
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    208.100.25.132 homebizlink.com

I even did a full restore to a date prior to the problem surfacing.
So I am at a loss. Does anyone have any ideas.
    Thanks
    Joe

    Hi Broni,
Thanks for the reply. No I haven't tried safe mode with networking. I am not sure of that procedure.

Restart computer, and keep tapping F8 key until menu appears.
Using keyboard's arrow keys, select 2nd option: Safe Mode with Networking.

    I'd start by deleting 208.100.25.132 homebizlink.com

I know it probably won't make a difference, but if homebizlink.com ever change their IP address you'll be SOL.

Your IP address might be blocked from accessing the server.
