verbatim exterternal 250g

    i am trying to set a verbatim portable hard drive firewire/usb 2.0 250g up for my friend and in manual it said that it would download it self and create a file on the desk top. When i plug it in it says that it is installed but i can not access it through my computer can any one help me?

    You'll probably find that the drive must still be partitioned and formatted, which is why it doesn't show up under Windows Explorer.

    Which version of Windows are you using?

    Look in Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management. If it appears there, but has no drive letter, right-click on it and allocate one.

    See if Verbatim have the program for download and install it that way.
