My heartfelt thanks to you for all you have done to help solve my problems. I agree with you there is nothing else to do. I will be purchasing a new computer while in Atlanta.
Is there anyway I can post to you directly and let you know what I bought and your opinion about it? It will definitely be a Dell.
So, you can close my case. I sure hope I am the first and last encounter you have with my age group who has limited computer savy.
I do notice that most people who use your website are very savy in geek speak. So your simplifying for me sure was a great help.
I will be packing up this ole gal (computer) and taking her with me so my daughter can transfer my info onto the new one.
Question: What is easiest thing to buy, or program, etc., to do the transfer?
Should we try a flashdrive, or buy that gizmo that plugs into old and new computer?
And where can I buy the XP program w/o Vista/or7? Dell offers vista with XP and could not find just plain ole XP. Is it possible to buy computer and remove Vista and install XP if I can get/purchase XP program? Not having any luck finding this out.

I again thank you so much all you've tried and especially your patience.
    XOXO

    You're very welcome :)
I hope you'll have a lot fun with your new machine.
As for transferring data, USB stick is perfectly fine, and they're cheap. You can get 8GB one for about $20.
I'd recommend, you go for Vista, for two reasons.
XP is 8 years old operating system, and you're yound enough :))) to learn something new.
Secondly, unles the computer comes with XP (you still can find those), downgrading from Vista to XP, especially, if you want to do this yourself, can be a pain, mostly because of drivers.
Please, feel free to start a new topic here, and present us with your new toy :)

LOL Young enought to learn Vista? Thank you for the compliment. But I think I am gonna take your advice and get Vista. I do not hear/read good things about it tho and that was/is reason MS is for coming out with 7 this year. I lucked out with transferring this ole gal to the new one. Daughter arrived today from Atlanta to take me to her home. She brought her ??? from her office (not flashdrive, bigger..) and copied my whole harddrive and said we would go thru it and only install the things I want in Vista. And also lucked out with the $$$. She is going to buy me one. Great first daughter!! Now if I could only get my son to clean my windows!! Have a nice day!!
