Computer Turn off Automatically

    Hi All,

    Could anyown please help in solving the computers problem.

    My system gets Turned OFF Automatically if i just keep it Idle for 2 minutes only.

    It never goes on the Stand by mode but it gets Shut Down automatically.

    Somtimes it gets OFF while working on the system.

    Please advice for some parmenent solution.

    A weak or failing power supply can cause this.

    To find Event Viewer it is Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer. Double-click on an error listing to see more details.

    Have you opened the case to clean the dust out? Check the air intake vents and if there is a build up of dust under CPU fan (blocking the heatsink). Loosen the dust, take it outside and blow the dust out (you can buy cans of compressed air at an office suppliers).

    Definitely check the heatsink/fan for dust buildup. Also make sure the fan is running. I walked away from my computer for 5 minutes and when I returned a few minutes ago I smelled burning electronics and saw a blue screen on the monitor. My fan had died. It made me happy to see this PC start back up after replacing the fan.
