need help for pronto point wireless access point

I have pronto point wireless access point.

The problem is i can ping the ip address of the pronto point 192.168.1.1 but i cannot able to enter inside that ip page.

its telling "page cannot be found" error msg.


I even tried resetting the access point of about 30 seconds
Hard Reset (aka 30/30/30 reset):

the procedure of reset i did:
With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on back of unit for 30 seconds
Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds
Plug the unit back in STILL holding the reset button a final 30 seconds

after that the light next to the power light is flashing or blinking
but then also i dont know how to enter inside the access point configuration page.... still the light next to the power light is blinking

please reply how to enter inside the access point ip address.

 

What address did your computer have when you tried this?
Any other devices on the network?

 

i set my system s ip as static address which is 192.168.1.10

I even tried using auto ip config by enabling dhcp. then also no use.. But i can ping the router s ip address 192.168.1.1 but unable to open that page....

Its not opening in any other system...


I have only a single ethernet lan adapter and the pronto point wireless access point.

 

Sorry for being so basic but did you try http://192.168.1.1

 

One more thing. I can't find a manual for this product to verify but I have never heard of a access point with a defaut IP of 192.168.1.1 unless it has a gateway in it.
They are usually something weird like 192.168.1.245

my friend forgot the ip address for this product.. Actually finding this product s ip address is very challenging...... i tried many tool such as angry ip, NEWT Professional and many.. But it can ping 192.168.1.1 and it gives the product s mac address and technology name..

and that newt professional can also ping my computer s ip address .. so totally it can ping two ip addresses.

so i finally i resolved myself that this product s ip address ll be 192.168.1.1 but that page is not opening...

but the dhcp is leasing the 192.168.1.1 which is fake ip i think and not the original ip address of the wap.

can u please tel me how to find the access point ip address by operating dhcp...? or any other way to find the wap ip address?

 

It may not respond to ping. Guess you could try everything from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254

I have seen a lot of APs in the .245 range.

oh.. i dnt think that i cant able to enter all the ip address one by one...... so sad...

Get a copy of the manual.

 

i used several ip tools such as angry ip scanner, newt professional and also this lan guard.. but it can ping only the dhcp leased ip .. and not the original wap ip.

So i opened telnet by connecting to 192.168.1.1 It opens by showing some ssh busybox like that...

I think if if i could read this site: http://forum.openwrt.org then i can know how to configure the wireless access point using the telnet or ssh mode....

if i open cmd prompt it shows a open wrt wireless freedom and something known as kamikaze... am now studying about kamikaze....

Anybody know how to configure the wap using kamikaze since this is related to linux it seems....

 

yeah.. finally i found... port 80 is open but no one can able to open using the web interface.. since this openwrt doesnt have any of the standard gui..

But port 22 is open . I can enter inside using ssh2 Also i disabled the telnet..

now i almost found...

But by default, the wireless is disabled in the wap. I want to enable using the linux command.
