I think, your daughter actions, and the computer issues are simply coincidental.

I'm getting ready for bed now, so let's continue tomorrow.
You still can try cleaning your current computer, maybe fresh reinstall, if you don't have too much personal data there.

FYI: spent the day cleaning and relocating computer. It was really gummed up. Did get compressed air. Got it all hooked up except for scanner. It allowed me to play a game of hearts w/lots of lag. Players thought it was the site and I am not sure myself. Will be testing it further today.
    Have a nice day!

    Will do..
Checked my account with Dell and still owe $350 for my gdaughter's computer. Cannot buy new one now.
Can you think of any hardware that I might get checked to see if it has gone bad? Is there a website for that?
    Thxs

    You may...

    1. Run memtest: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic62524.html

    2. Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287
Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.
Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.
If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD, and make the CD bootable.

NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, which is not listed, try using Hitachi tools.

I don't think I am capable of running memtest. I don't even know what a stick of ram is. And after rreading about how to install it with floppy, CD, etc., and then instructions to use it, nada...
And it said may take hours or days to run.
any other sites that I could use with less stress?
    Thxs

    Download, and install Everest: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
    Open it.
In left pane expand Computer folder.
    Click once on Summary
In upper menu, go Report>Quick Report-Summary
Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Don't include anything under the line Debug - PCI

How? when I highlight any of it to delete, it won't. tried to do it in both panes (original report and when posting). Tried copy/paste and it does the whole report and when asked to take out over the limit characters, won't let me delete any.
I purchased Super Utilities that ran reports on my hard drive and many other things. got this on the website you want their report from. Any help there for you? It was after this I am now able to play cards on The Zone with op's. But still freezing on other card sites.

Does it mean I need a blank CD in place for it to download to?
if so, which place, D or E (top one or bottom one)?

Download the file (DLG_V11_0.zip) to your computer.
Double click on the file to unzip it.
    You'll get DLG_V11_0.iso file.
Use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD.
D, or E, I don't know, whichever is the burner.

Do I want to create an image file from the file or write files? and when it asks me to pick a file, how? when I bring up the iso, it wants me to open it. so how do I get it to be selected by the burner?
