I have several computers/laptops. Some have WinXP, some Vista. All worked well until about 5 days ago, when they all stopped updating AdAware. My wife's Vista based laptop is stuck on definition 0148.0031, and my laptop and desktop are both current as of definition 0148.0036. I maintain all of the computers, and, as of perhaps a month or so ago, a pop-up began to appear to urge me to upgrade to the Anniversary Issue. I resisited, figuring that AdAware Free has been working fine for over a year now, and that this Anniversary Issue is probably a way to get me off the free edition, and eventually start paying. Adaware comes up, and when I click update, it flips to the update page, and then just sits there. The progress bar never starts, no matter how long I wait. This is true for all of the computers.
I also have spywareblaster, and A Squared installed on all of the computers.

I had the same problem with Adaware2008. There is a free version of the Anniversary Issue, but be careful as there is an option to download The Anniversary plus for free(there must be a catch). The free edition has some limited real time protection, which I disabled along with the auto updates, etc.
