    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me out here.

I have been trying to search all over the net to solve this problem, but no luck so far..

okay, so I recently got a new Laptop from Lenovo, and started using VISTA just two weeks ago. I currently use Windows Vista Home Basic and was planning to upgrade to Ultimate 64bit for my 4GB ram..

Everything has worked great until today, but I suddenly started having problems. I still have sound, but it is extremly distorted and voice part of sound is almost impossible to recognize due to low volume.

I tried playing music, games and watching videos from my HDD and youtube, it happens all the time.

Therefore, I tried to restore my pc more than 10 times and reinstalled sound driver 5 times and even reinstalled video codecs, but nothing has been working for me.. Apparently, I think it's getting worse, because the sound is more distorted than it was initially.

I think video codecs that I installed could have been the cause of the problem, but I had no problems using them with XP before (I installed the ones that are VISTA compatible which my sister's PC use), and it was working fine for two weeks..

Guys please help me out here, cuz I don't really want to format my computer to just fix this...

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!

    Jason

    I fixed it..

    Hey guys,

I just solved my issues.. It turned out that one of the codec that I installed is somewhat unstable with VISTA, so I got rid of it and install another one. But after I fixed my sound, I got another problem of music being played on both my headphone and speaker at the same time, so I restore the window again, and now everything is back to normal...

I hope I don't have to go through this again..

    Jason
