I'm no webmaster, but I did an okay job building my one and only website.

I had no trouble adding pictures as I was building the site, but now when I go to add a picture to index.htm it shows as a white box with a red x in the left hand corner

I've tried inserting it, dragging it, putting it in different places on the page.

    Any ideas?

    Julie

Hi Julie - I've been using FrontPage for several years. Try importing the picture first into the \images folder and then drag it from the image folder onto index.htm.

thanks. that didn't do it. funny, none of my images are in the images folder. it's empty. all the images are just hanging out with the other htm files.

Anyway, this is really weird, because I even copied a page which i got interpreted into spanish, left the images in place and even those images won't show up except for that X in the upper left hand corner. It seems that I can no longer make new web pages.

I'm thinking something got corrupted either on my computer, or on Front Page, but if you have any more ideas, please keep them coming. I have no idea what to do and i had being stuck like this.

If you want to see the site and see the page that's translated into spanish but the pics won't show up:
    Code:
    http://www.feed-your-cells.com
    (url made non linking)

    thanks

Some, not all images load for me when viewing the pages.
But the code generated by your Front Page version 5x is non-standard and the site does not display properly in Firefox. Nor does it render correctly in IE6, it shows horizontal scrollbar.

Try deleting your temp internet files.

Tony thanks for taking a look and thanks for the input. I did delete all my temp int files. I'm not sure what you mean by "horizontal scroll bar" unless you mean the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen.

for me, the only images that will not display are the images on the Spanish version. The original website was launched months ago and those images all seem okay to me. Then a month ago i tried to add an image, plus I added a spanish version and had this problem with images.

So the code generated is non-standard? I'm using FP 2002. I did try to insert some paypal html which wouldn't show up and i think I got it all deleted.

Again, thanks for all your inptu.

Yes, scrollbar at bottom of screen is horizontal, always create pages so as to avoid them. No one digs scrolling sideways.

Chance are that the image path in the code does not match the location of the images on the server. Use FTP to verify that the images are actually on the server.

Yes, not standard code. FP is actually a poor Web editor, though it does get the job done for IE browsers.
Test the standardness and check for code errrs here:
