When starting my PC i get to the point where i get the XP screen with the moving bar. The screen then goes blank. I can leave the PC in this state for days, just a blank screen. When i return to the PC i am faced with the log in user screen. I can then log into XP and use it as normal although sometimes i do not have wireless connectivity. The problem then reoccurs if i have to restart for any reason. Can anyone please help?

Hi markrog69. Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

    1. Try pressing F8 on startup which will show the advanced boot options menu.
    2. Select Safe Mode from the list and see if the computer boots up correctly. If it does then a driver or a program is interfering with the normal Windows startup process.
3.Try also pressing F8 on startup and selecting Last Kown Good Configuration.
    4. If all of those options fail to resolve the problem then you can boot from a Windows XP CD and perform a few more procedures which will hopefully repair your issue. Let me know if you have a Windows XP CD or not.
