Hi I have an Acer Travelmate 6592 Laptop with XP Pro installed and lately when I start it up, the New Hardware wizard pops up asking for a disc or such, First it appears in the Task bar , then the large screen appears and when I close that it then pops up in the tashbar bar that it may not work correctly.
I have lately had the GPS connected and also the wifes MP3 player to load music to them both, The Player had it's own disc which was installed and the GPS program ( Mapsource ) was already on there,
    Everything is working as usual,
Any clues how I can stop this from happening.
    Thanks Des.

Does it mention what/which disc it's looking for? Popping in that cd should solve the problem so that it can get the files it thinks it needs.

Hi, No Steve , it just asks to search this once , or evertime I start up , or ignore , I tick that but it still comes on next time , I have had a good look to see if some thing is hanging but can't find anything,
I have tried L/click and R/click on the icon in the task bar , but nothing shows up???.
    A bit if a mistery,
perhaps I should reload the mp3 player disc but dont want it on twice. the GPS doesn't have a disc just loads from the unit and I have had that on there a few times since it appeared.
    Any more suggestions .
    Thanks Des.

Hi, Hawke , I have just checked the laptop and nothing is showing in Device manager,
I just noticed it is looking for large storage device, and also I have ticked the box " Dont ask me to install this device again" but it still pops up each time I turn it on.
I reinstalled the disc for the Mp3 player but it just searched for a while and said cant find anything,
    Thanks for help.
    regards Des.
