Does anyone know if by doing a custom install of NS 7.0 "Compact" it will allow you to deselect the Beatnik Player Plugin? I am assuming the the installation will find the Live Audio Plugin (npaudio.dll)from my current NS 4.75 plugin folder which I would prefer to use as the media player in NS 7.0.

    Hi washoe,

No, there is no option for deselecting Beatnik, during the install.

There are a couple of options you can consider:

One option would be to rename the Beatnik files, thus disabling them.

Another workaround would be for you to copy your entire Communicator 4.75 Plugins folder to Netscape 7.0. First, renaming the existing 7.0 Plugin Folder, e.g., OldPlugins. Then you can forget about Beatnik.

I took a look at Holger's Plugin Download page http://www.hmetzger.de/ple.html and noted that there are three files associated with the Beatnik Plugin:
    npbeatnk.dll
    beatnik.class
    patches.hsb

The patches.hsb file is to be placed in C:\WINDOWS

So, if you do decide to replace your 7.0 Plugin folder with your Communicator 4.75 Plugin folder, you might want to find that patches.hsb file in C:\Windows, i.e., if the patches.hsb file is included in this latest Compact Version.
