I am using Cisco's Network Magic

My router is a Net Gear DG843G with "Wi-Fi" protected access

I am using AVG3 Anti Virus

    I have installed a "paid-up" copy of "Malabytes "

I am using the Windows Firewall

I recently had a Microsoft software issue which needed attention. A chap from APAC Global Consumer Support in Kualalumpur Malaysia was able remotely to take control of my notebook in order to resolve the issue. The process required my permission, but I was, nevertheless, horrified to discover that it is actually possible to do this.

I am not familiar with networking so I have installed Network Magic: firstly because I need to transfer confidential data between the computers on my home network; and, secondly because I need to set up a new notebook.

To get to the point, is there any way I can check how "impregnable" my home net work is?

I understand that there is a degree of vulnerability because I am using a wireless network to connect my computers; however the risk is minimal because I live in a very sparsely populated area

What I really want to check is my vulnerability to on-line hackers coming in via my Net Gear DG843G Router

Go here and click the Proceed button. Then do ShieldsUP!! Services > File Sharing, Common Ports, etc.

Thanks Tony!! My network appears to be 100% secure! I almost can't believe it!
