    Hi,

I've just purchased a laptop made by Toshiba. The exact mode name is: Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-15P.
As it came without any operating system installed, I decided to load Windows XP Pro SP3 on it. I knew from my previous experience with my Lenovo laptop that prior to installing the system, switching to compatibility mode in the Bios settings was necessary. So I did it and XP installed fine. I went to the website of Toshiba and installed all the drivers, because XP did not recognize a plenty of devices. Finally, drivers for all the hardware were installed. After that I wanted to switch back to AHCI mode in the Bios settings, but upon booting, Windows displayed the famous blue screen. I tried re-installing the SATA drives, but this did not help. In my Lenovo laptop it was possible to choose AHCI mode after the drivers have been installed when the laptop was running in Compatibility mode.
Would you give me some instructions how to successfully revert to AHCI mode without the need of reloading Windows XP from scratch?
    I'd appreciate your help.
