IE and downloads

    On my sisters pc:

    Internet Explorer will only load through AOL. It will not load any other way. When she clicks any kind of download link in AOL nothing happens. I have tried to fix through remote assistance but have not come up with anything. She was having trouble when it upgraded to IE8 and she removed it from Add and Remove....ever since then IE has not or will not work. Please help :confused:

    She has an eMachine and is running XP Home

    I suggest your sister re-installs IE8 - I have encountered problems with IE 7 after uninstalling IE 8 - re-installing IE 8 resolved the IE 8 problems which prompted the roll back in the first place.

    AOL has ways of it's own and with that in the equation it may be difficult to resolve the problem.

    Download IE 8 direct from MS ....

    I put the files on Microsoft's Skydrive. Hopefully she can install them from there.
