I have not been able to find on line, anywhere-

Will IE8 be pushed through the automatic updates or will it be offered separate? (I have a Vista computer that reports IE8 as an "important" update.) Is this isolated to Vista? Should people be installing 8 or not?

Hi Suzette. IE8 will be distributed through Automatic Updates. I would suggest that you install IE8 because its more user friendly compared to IE7 and it has additional security measures which will make browsing the Internet safer. I have installed IE8 on about a dozen or so computers and I haven't had any problems.

Yes, I was originally reluctant to upgrade to IE 8 as I had heard some odd things about it. I decided to go for it a couple of days ago with the Microsoft routine updates. I think it is a great improvement over IE 7 & I am quite pleased with it. I think the inclusion of a bookmarking toolbar & some right-click drop-down functionality brings it a bit more up to date.

    It is well worth downloading.

It's a pity there is no spellchecker though.

As I posted in another thread use the Google Toolbar - essential IMHO - which includes a spell checker and popup blocker.

I don't like the Google toolbar, it has given me problems in the past. I have a spellchecker for IE now. Cheers anyway.
