Hi glaive88. When you say your registry is corrupted can you still log into Windows and use the computer normally? What kind of error messages do you get? Do you have a Windows XP CD? If you can log into Windows then click Start< Run and type sfc /scannow and press enter. (there is a space between the c and the /). Have your XP CD ready in case SFC needs a file. Let me know what happens after you run sfc.

thanks for the input..but thats one of the problem..firstly i can still log on normally and all that..but when i type in the message you just gave to me... "Windows canit find (sfc/scannow)..
also sometimes the system jus close down some wondows that are open and also if the system is one standby it the screen may jus go blank white and that it..
Usually the message tht pops up is something like windows/fte23k exe..error corrupted file..thats not the exact thing jus a little example like..but tht is wat comes up for most of the files..

    Did you include the space?

    Question:
What should we see upon running this routine?
Does it matter which service pack that is installed?

A small window with a blue progress bar - the whole process generally takes 15 - 20 minutes. When complete the window closes - there is no further message or report. To see if any files were replaced look in Event Viewer.
Installed OS and install CD should be the same SP. May be necessary to slipstream the appropriate service pack into the install CD.
