OK, so I was using my brand-spanking new installation of Navigator 7.0, and I was surfing through Ramona's website, and clicked on the link to get here, the WindowsBBS.

If memory serves, the window that pops up was a full-size "maximized" window that I didn't have to click the square to maximize out. Now, after two crashes (only after a week of use, to boot; not bad!) I've come back to the site via Ramona's link, and I'm not sure if the new window that's being spawned has changed.

My inclination wants to say that something has changed since the crash---indeed, several options had to be reset---but a cursory examination of the relevant sites with Chairman Bill's browser indicates that the new window opened by the WindowsBBS via Ramona's site is indeed a smaller non-maximized window.

Am I imaging things, or is there a legitimate issue here? If the latter, how do I fix it?

    Thanks.

    Welcome to the Forum, Fenris!

    Hi Fenris,

When I use the WindowsBBS link on my Solutions page, I get a full/maximized window. That is including Netscape 7.0, Mozilla 1.1, and Opera 6.05.

Now, what kind of crashes are you having with Netscape 7.0. Do you recall the errors, or did the browser simply freeze? Which options had to be reset? The more information you can give us, the better we can help. Whatever happened is at your end and not WindowsBBS.

    Ramona :D

    Ramona, thanks for your response.

Oddly enough, the size issue is resolved at this point in time. Might be one of those weird memory things that affects IE from time to time, wherein the size of the last window closed controls to some extent.

I haven't had a browser freeze yet. Cue the footage of me knocking on wood.

One crash is probably attributable to me executing it and a standalone mail client together very quickly after startup. It just seemed to freeze in a loop that involved l lot of hard drive activity, but no running programs. No sweat; it's the mail client's fault, I think.

The second one came after installing adblocker.xpi---which may be its own mistake, since I can't figure out how to remove it all by itself---and paying a visit to cnet.com in order to test the effectiveness of the new addition.

It seemed to work, and I closed the browser, only to get the crash box (error in somethingorother.dll).

One of the things I had to reset was the auto-complete of URLs in that drop-down menu; I like to use that option, but the crash, oddly enough, turned it off.

I may have gotten past the most recent oddball behavior; I've _always_ had trouble with options sometimes forgetting themselves or not setting in the Mozilla-class browsers. Oh well.

    Thanks again,
    Fenris
