I have an HP Media Center m7760n with Bios LTD 5.13 2-16-2007.
I recently had a power supply go bad and had to put new one in.
After I put the new pwr supply in the system would not come up. I finally used the system restore to go to a previous restore point. It still would not boot. I tried that with all the restore points I had and it still would not boot. I finally tried a complete system restore from the files on disk and it seemed to go through everything properly but it still would not boot. I then tried xp pro from an old dell system disk and it booted but would not connect to the internet. Finally, I then went back to Vista and used the restore disks I had made sometime back and it completed properly but would still not boot.

    I would appreciate any input.

    Thanks

Hello taserek and welcome to WindowsBBS :D

It would help if you post any errors you receive or explain "not boot ", does your computer restart/hang etc?

I don't use Vista but any information you supply will help anyone who can assist you.

My mistake, thanks for pointing it out.

The computer boots up to a screen that says

    Esc for boot menu
    F10 for Setup
    F11 for System Restore

If you try the 'Esc' it allows you to select the drive to boot from

If you try F10 it takes you to Setup menu where you can adjust system parameters

If you try F11 it takes you to a System Restore screen which allows you several restore options including:
    Selecting a restore point
restoring the system completely to original shipped
Restoring the computer completely to original shipped

the last two options format the windows hard drive. I have tried both of them. Both complete successfully, but the system still will not get past the previously described screen.

This computer has two hard drives and a DVD drive plus an area which includes restore files to completly restore the system.

    Thank You
