    I have two external drives.
When I click on My Computer I can see all my drives.
I can double click on the first External Drive and it opens with no problem.
When I click on my second External Drive it does nothing. No error no nothing.
I can right click and select OPEN but nothing happens.
I can use the search for a file on the second drive and the computer will go right to it.
The second drive will work fine as far as running any programs installed on it. I just can not open it from my computer.
If I boot up in the safe mode everything works perfect. Both external drives will open just fine.
What could be causing my second external not to open under normal boot up?

Hi Fred. Try making sure that you don't have any programs interfering with the external drive. Shut down all background programs that are running in the system tray.

Nothing running in system tray but CA internet security suite. Already disabled and it didn't make a difference.
I can open my computer, right click on drive that won't open, select open auto play from drop down list, select open folders to view files and I'm in.
Just can not double click on drive and get in.

Try right clicking on the external harddrive and click properties. Then click the Tools tab and under error checking click Check Now. Then Check both checkboxes and click Start. Let check disk run. After its finished reboot the computer. See if there is any difference.

Tried it but didn't help. Not sure what else to try.
