I am trying to help my daughter that lives far from me. With XP, when she copies text to paste into a different document, clipboard comes up and she can only paste there. How do we restore to normal operation.

It is the clipboard that displays after a CTRL-C action. Office 97 is installed, but the problem occurs when it is closed. It shows up anywhere like Mail, sites, and any displayed text.

It sounds like a third-party clipboard utility has been installed. If so, there's likely an icon for it in the Notification Area.

If that's the case, opening that program using that icon, or from its shortcut on the Start Menu and poking around in its Preferences/Options/Settings (whatever terminology it uses) might yield a way to turn off it's displaying after every copy.

Thanks; If we can find it, we will uninstall it.
