The tabs are ok, release, renew, release all, renew all. My IP is dynamic I think.
How do I get the IP number to change?

Assuming you mean your WAN (internet) IP and not a local network one. Even dynamic IP's can appear relativley static, with my ISP the only way to force a change is swapping the device connected to the modem.

Is there any particualr reason you want to do this anyway?

I'm having connection issues on again off again. I thought it might be worth a try. Did the whole unplug modem etc already. Maybe I need a new modem. Sorry, yes I do mean internet.

    Hopefully still good.

For what it's worth, if your connection WAN side is bad it's due to the the Node/UBR (unless you've been naughty ;)) and changing your IP won't make a difference, you're still connecting via the same routers.

Can you translate that for me. I have so much to learn. Thanks. I'm pretty sure I haven't been naughty. :)

No problem, and I'm sorry for suggesting you had been naughty.

No matter how you connect, your UBR/Node wouldn't change (EDIT: if you're using the same connection), this is your first contact with the internet outside your LAN, If the node is faulty changing your IP wouldn't make a difference. However, a common reason for changing IP is because you had been naughty and were banned from a forum/mail server etc for some reason.

In your case though this does not appear to be the case and your ISP has resolved the issue.

Once again my apologies and happy surfing :)

No need to apologize. It was a good laugh at the end of a long day. Thanks for explaining it to me.
