I am using Outlook Express version 6 (windows XP SP2) and tried to send an email with too many/large attachments (actually photos). The program just gets stuck every time I go into the outbox to delete it the regular way. Is there a way to identify a specific email on the hard drive so I can delete? Another post said the emails are stored in 'local settings' within 'documents and settings'. I can't locate this folder.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks, Kevin

OE keeps all messages in .dbx files so the message you want to delete is in "outbox.dbx. "

Probably the simplest way to get rid of it, assuming there are no other messages in the Outbox that you want to keep, is to delete (or rename) the outbox.dbx file. A new, empty Outbox will be created next time you open OE.

To find that file, first go to Control Panel>Folder Options>Advanced tab and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected operating system files" (OK the warning message). Then check "Show hidden files and folders." Click OK.

You should then be able to navigate to OE's store folder (the path to which you can find in OE>Tools>Options>Maintenence tab>Store Folder button) and delete or rename the outbox.dbx file (make sure OE is closed when you delete or rename it).
