Hi. This is my first post so please bear with me. For some reason, I don't understand, SP3 won't install. I turned off my anti-virus and my firewall. When it was about to install it gave a message "Access denied ". When I did the check in run I got this message: DoRegistryUpdates failed, Access is denied. I have never had a problem with updates before. I wanted to know how can I fix this and get the update allowed. If you can please help. Thanks

Thanks. I am logged on as an administrator. I have tried rebooting and installing. I still get the same error code "0x8007005 ".

Thanks again Arie. That is just what I had to do and it downloaded and installed just fine. I do have a question for you. Can I now delete the Reset.cmd from my desktop? I don't want anyone to accidentally run it.

    Hi Arie,

Can the above be used to install SP2? It seems no matter what I do, SP2 (even on disk and with everything disabled) crashes my system.
