    Hello,
I have problem with activeX genrally. One month ago it stopped working. I dont know reason. I tried to do everything...my internet option -> security is well configured, activeX is allowed. Nothing that I know of has changed. I think, that problem is somewhere in system settings. I am using xp sp-3

On this site http://www.pcpitstop.com/testax.asp I tried to run activeX text and it showed me (in IE) this "ActiveX is not supported ".
I have been searching in the internet a lot and nothing helped me.

I know that I need to repair activeX in my system, but i dont know how to do that. I tried to use also "sfc /scannow ", but it didnt help.
    Thanks for your answers

You should get a info bar pop-up asking you to install the 'PCPitstop Utility'.

What will the utility bar do for me. should I still be able to tell if I am running active x without it? I don't want to add anything that may cause problems later.

Before we go any further there is a remarkable resemblance between your opening post ....
and the post in the URL I posted .....
Did you copy it in part?

Yes I did copy it in part. To me, it explained my problem better than I could.

Yes I have the same settings as shown. One thing though, I can not get the securtity setting to stay on meduim no matter what I do. It keeps defaulting to meduim high.

The only lead I can find on that is the possibility that it is being set by your av or firewall.

Reading back through the thread it seems that you did not run the ActiveX test at PCPitstop. Did you see the notification bar at the top of the page (screenshot) - go ahead and load the control and run the test.

Thank you very much Pete. I took the add on and it now reads "congratulations! ActiveX and scripting are working properly "

Guess I don't need to worry about the IE security settings?

Now I need to find out why I can't get any high priority or critical updates, keeps saying there are none. It's set to auto download let me install.

I have not gotten one since 12-23 08. Got two office updates via custom download a few weeks ago and thats it.

I'll get all my facts straight and then post regarding the updateds or a lack of there of.

    Great :)
No - Medium High is clearly better than Medium - I run Medium High.
    In a new thread, please!

Yes- under Windows - XP, Vista, whichever is appropriate.
