    Me again, with another problem...

I've recently upgraded my system and use WXP, OE and IE6. Included with the new system was Adobe 5.05. My problem is that when I attempt to open a PDF file, all I get is a little square with some little graphics inside.

I think I have something switched off that's preventing Adobe from opening a file, but can't figure out what. Can anyone suggest a fix?

Uninstall/reinstall Adobe. Post back good or bad.

Thanks once again for bailing me out....

Here's what happened: I thought I had Acrobat reader installed (and perhaps I did) but when I opened Acrobat all I could do was create an Acrobat file. Couldn't open an existing PDF file.

Ensured that my ActiveX stuff was enabled ... still didn't help.

Then when browsing the Acrobat site, I came across a download for Acrobat reader...claimed to allow me to read PDF files...sounded like just the thing for me!

I didn't uninstall Acrobat (by this time, I figured I was short a program anyway) and just downloaded the 'reader' program on top of what was already there. Voila.....PDF files are now readable.

Not sure this was the proper way to approach it, but it worked.

Thanks a million once again for your help.
