    Dear Experts,
Ive been having problems with my monitor. It keeps going into a solid black screen and the power is still on whenever i use the computer for too long or change resloutions. There isnt any sounds like hissing or whining and i have to switch on and off about 10 times for it to return to normal. My refresh rate 60 hertz and usually 1440 x 900 and is a HP W1907 19' widescreen with 250 watt power supply and Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset Family all with an age of about 8-10 months.

    Thanks,
    Gyrol

Hi Gyrol. Try checking your power options in Control Panel< Performance and Maintenance< Power Options. Make sure the monitor isn't set to turn off after a certain amount of time. Also have you tried a different monitor? I would also update the drivers for your grpahics card. See if those options solve your problem.

That's the first thing I would try. You must determine if the monitor is a fault, or something in the computer. This assumes all connections are tight - on both ends.

250W power supply? That is pretty small, leaving little room for hardware upgrades. Is that the original PSU? Have you added hardware since problem started? When did the problem start?

Before it becomes too late, do not spend too much time trying to figure this out without notifying the computer's (or retailers) warranty support.

It started about 4 months ago and no i didnt add any hardware to my PC. My graphic drivers are up to date and i tried another monitor and that didnt have the same problem. It seems to be this monitor only.

Then there's your answer. Send it in while still under warranty.
