I'd like to get a new wireless router and set up a home network. Here are my priorities:

    - security

    - speed (not a gamer but I want reasonable bandwidth)

    - ease of set-up

    Suggestions?

I've always been a fan of Netgear routers for good solid cheap units. However, I recently needed a router in a hurry, and could only get hold of a Belkin router. I have to say, if easy of set-up is a key factor, then Belkin routers are very easy to set up both for the internet connection and the wireless. I'd say they make a very simple to use home router. Not a good choice for a cheap business router because they will only let you use a private address space, but that shouldn't be a problem on a home network.

May want to consider Wireless N (802.11n) capable when choosing a router. In a perfect world, supports faster wireless connections over longer distances. Your laptop needs to have same feature (if not, can use a Wireless-N USB 2.0 WIFI plug-in adapter) or router will drop down to b or g speeds.
Below is a review / suggestions for the better makes/models.
Top 802.11n Wireless N Broadband Routers

ReggieB ... Also a Netgear fan. Recently picked up another one with N band to link in with my netbook.
Hope to get network switched over to new router sometime this month. Router has 1GB ports. My computer has 1 GB connection, need to card-up the other two on network. Using all Cat 6 cable.
