I have just installed IE 8 and when I try to print from a web page I get the message

to help protect your computer Windows has closed this program
    name:internet explorer
    publisher: Microsoft Corporation
I have sent lots of error reports to Microsoft with no reaction that I am aware of.
I then have to reload ie 8
The printer works fine from windows

The error I get when I try to print is data execution error windows is closing the program internet explorer. IE8 obviously has attempted to use an area of memory it should not have accessed. I tried a download from microsoft to cure this but I am still getting the same trouble. I have now loaded firefox and have decided to stay with this.

I have the same problem with Data Execution error. Posted this weeks ago and no response from anyone from BBS. Will be watching your post to see if anyone can come up with a resolution.

What is your DEP set to? See System Properties > Advanced & click the Settings button under Performance. Last tab is the Data Execution Prevention.

Mine is set on "Turn on DEP for essential Windows Programs.
What should it be set on?

I checked that out and added internet exploreras aprogram without DEP but I still get the same problem. Many thanks for the suggestion I thought that would cure it as it seemed to make sense but it did not help even after I rebooted.

Try running IE with all ad-ons disabled. Try resetting IE to the default settings.
