I am having intermintant problems connecting with IE7. I shut down my system every night, every three days (48hrs) of running time it will not connect to sites. Web site found never comes up, but near the bottom of the tool bar it reads, connecting and shows the ip number but never does connect.

When ever this happens it is always the same, website found does not come up. Just the ip number.

Can I check anything when it is in this state to help trouble shoot.

I checked for virus' malware etc. could there be some sort of timing issue.

When I switch over to FF, no problem.

I was thinking of starting over with IE7, is it better to reset it or do a uininstall and download. Or?

Hi gary7. I would try downloading and installing Internet Explorer 8 from here. After its installed see if your problem goes away.

I thought about doing just that, but there seems to be some problems with 8 from the forums I have been reading.

As with any browser or any piece of software there will always be people who have problems with software. I would go ahead and try it. I have installed IE8 on about a dozen computers and haven't had any problems.

Thanks Evan, if I don't get any other sugesstions here in a day or so I'll give it a try. If I do have problems beyond my scope of knowledge, will a system restore to get 7 back like it was, with passwords etc.

If for some reason IE8 doesn't solve your problems then you can uninstall it through add/remove programs. This will bring you back to IE6. I wouldn't advise runing system restore to uninstall IE8 because it doesn't do that great of a job and could make your situation worse.
