   I currently have IE 6 installed and I am considering installing IE8. If I install IE8 does it install straight over IE6?

   Short answer - yes
   
   And I would expect an uninstall (through Add/Remove Programs) of IE8 to roll you back to IE6 as was the case with IE7.
