**sorry, I'm not tech savy at all, so I'm probably not using the right lingo

About two days ago, I noticed that the icons to the links under my All Programs under the Start menu all disappeared. And last night then I realized that I couldn't open any of these links to any of my programs. When I tried to manually open the programs under their C:/programfiles folders, some worked and some didn't. Now all of them don't and I noticed that on my desktop, the white, blank icons are spreading to other programs that were working before. Also, they are getting replaced with ".ink" links! Help! Is it a virus? What should I do??

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

A virus is always a possibility, but your .exe association may have fouled up, see .....

    Broken EXE Association ....
If the above fails to resolve the problem run a virus scan if you can and see if anything is picked up.

I'm not sure if this was the right thing to do, but it seemed to have fix the problem - I just system restored! Yay! Thanks for your advice!
